Lisa | Beautiful Boudoir Inspiration

St. Paul, Minnesota – March 2023

One of the best things about being a boudoir photographer is setting up boudoir sessions for returning clients. I love reconnecting with strong, beautiful women I’ve worked with in the past. It’s an honor to capture their growth and strength year after year. We catch up, smile, and share memories during our sessions. I was very excited when Lisa contacted me and wanted to set up another boudoir session! I have photographed Lisa many times before outside of boudoir photography for engagement and wedding sessions, and she’s such a delight to work with. If you’re interested in boudoir photography or a photoshoot of your own, Lisa’s session is full of beautiful boudoir inspiration!

All About Boudoir Photography

Before diving into Lisa’s boudoir session, I wanted to talk a bit about boudoir photography. If you’re curious about boudoir sessions or unsure of what really happens at a boudoir session, I’ve got you covered! I’ve been a boudoir photographer for many years and have photographed women of all backgrounds, ages, and sizes. No matter what chapter of life you’re in, I’m here to capture authenticity and beauty in a genuine and empowering way.

If you’re unfamiliar with boudoir photography, it’s a candid type of photography. It aims to highlight an individual’s unique self-expression through artistically intimate and empowering poses. Contrary to popular belief, you don’t have to wear lingerie during your boudoir session. It’s very common for women to wear whatever they feel most beautiful. Sometimes it is lingerie; other times, it’s a cute pair of jeans, an athletic outfit, or a flowy dress! It all depends on preference, style, comfort, and confidence! During Lisa’s session, she wore lingerie and street clothes. All outfits perfectly captured Lisa’s personality and individuality, translating beautifully into her photos. During boudoir sessions, like Lisa, I ensure that all my clients are comfortable. I take the time to get to know you and ask about your goals and hopes for the session ahead. Well, blast your favorite music, eat snacks and work together to create a memorable experience. I’ll gently guide you into the best lighting and poses, all in an effort to ensure you have an elevated and dream-worthy boudoir session.

Beautiful Boudoir Inspiration – All About Lisa’s Session

Before Lisa’s session, we discussed what kinds of images she was interested in and inspired by. We caught up on life a little bit and reminisced on previous sessions we’d done together, such as her engagement, wedding, and past boudoir session. Lisa brought her boudoir album from the year before, and it helped us plan what she wanted her new boudoir session to look like!

Lisa radiated joy during her session and served some seriously beautiful boudoir inspiration. She really valued how much confidence and empowerment her last boudoir session evoked and decided she wanted to experience it all again! Lisa is inspired by light, especially in the way it lands on the body when we’re in the studio. I loved working with the natural light that filters in through the windows, along with my studio lights. It showcased and highlighted Lisa’s beauty, inside and out. I couldn’t be more happy with how her photos turned out!
