A Fall Family Photo Session to Remember

Wausau, WI

It was one of those perfect fall days—the sun was shining, the air had that crisp, refreshing bite, and even though the leaves were on their way out the evening was lovely. And what better way to celebrate the season than with a family photo session?

I had the privilege of meeting up with one of my favorite families—people I’ve worked with before and absolutely adore. Their children are the sweetest, their smiles infectious, and the love they share as a family is truly heartwarming. I was beyond excited to capture these moments for them.

As we kicked off the session, I couldn’t help but smile at how adorable the kids looked in their fall outfits. The little girl wore a charming dress paired with colorful leggings, while her brother looked so handsome in a plaid shirt and jeans. They were full of energy, laughing and running through the park, kicking up leaves as they played. It was the kind of carefree joy that made my heart swell.

For me, the goal of every session is to capture the essence of a family’s connection—the quiet moments, the spontaneous laughter, the little glances that say so much. As I clicked away, I found myself drawn to these simple, beautiful moments: the way the parents held hands as they walked together, the shared giggles between siblings, and the way they all looked at one another with such warmth and tenderness.

Of course, like any family shoot, there were moments when the kids got distracted or needed a break to run off some of that energy. But I’ve learned over the years that these little interruptions often lead to some of the most genuine and heartfelt photos.

As the day drew to a close and the golden light of the late afternoon cast a soft glow over everything, we wrapped up the session with some family portraits. The parents pulled their children close, and in that quiet, peaceful moment, I could feel the love radiating between them. It was a simple, yet profoundly beautiful scene—one that felt like a snapshot of their family’s bond.

This fall session was such a joy to photograph. It was a reminder of why I love what I do—capturing the small, meaningful moments that make a family unique, and helping them preserve those memories for years to come. I can’t wait to see this family grow, evolve, and continue to share their journey. And I’ll be here, camera in hand, ready to document each new chapter.
